JEE Main 2019 Summary

“JEE Main 2019 – National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct JEE Main 2019 Paper 1 for B.Tech in computer-based mode on January 9, 10, 11 and 12. JEE Main Paper 2 for B.Arch programmes will be held as both computer-based (Mathematics and Aptitude) and pen and paper-based test on January 8 in two shifts from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM (morning shift) and from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM (afternoon shift).

NTA has released the exact city of JEE Main 2019 examination for Paper-1 and Paper-2 by October 21. The application correction window (for January session) facility is now closed. The correction facility was open from October 8 to October 14 on the NTA official website.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is conducted to offer admissions to interested candidates in undergraduate engineering programmes at NITs (National Institutes of Technology), IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology) and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) located across the country. JEE Main Paper-1 evaluates candidates who want to pursue BE/BTech at NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. This exam is also the eligibility test for JEE advanced which is the entrance exam to secure admissions in programmes offered by 21 IITs and Indian School of Mines (ISM). Only the top 2,24,000 score holders in JEE Main exam are eligible to apply for JEE Advanced Exam.

From 2019, JEE Main will be conducted twice a year in January and April by NTA. Till 2018, JEE Main exam was being conducted by CBSE.

JEE Main application form was released on 1st September for the exam session in January 2019 and closed on September 30. NTA has also launched mock test for JEE students this year on their website and candidates can either download the mock tests or visit the Test Practice centres for the better preparation.

JEE Main 2019 April exam will be held from April 6 to April 20, 2019. The application process for the second attempt will be held between February 8 to March 7, 2019. The result for April session will be declared by April 30, 2019.”

Method of determining merit Conversion of raw score in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Total into NTA scores.

Overall merit shall be prepared by merging NTA scores of each shift [First & Second shift] and all days.

Method of resolving ties Candidates obtaining equal Total NTA scores in Paper-1, in following descending order:
NTA score in Mathematics
NTA score in Physics
NTA score in Chemistry
Candidates older in Age
If the resolution is not possible after this criterion, candidates will be given same rank.
