BITSAT 2019 Exam Summary

BITS Pilani determines the test format of BITSAT exam. The exam provides admissions to Integrated First Degree Programmes at the three campuses of BITS – Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad. BITSAT 2019 will be scheduled from the second week of May 2019 in multiple slots.
BITSAT is national level exam conducting by BITS Pilani. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and It comprises 150 objective type questions. The paper consists of 4 sections viz Physics, Chemistry, English Proficiency/Logical Reasoning, Mathematics or Biology (For B.Pharm candidates).

BITSAT Exam Pattern 2019

The test format includes details related to the mode of exam, nature of questions, marking scheme, duration and other such details. Knowing the exam pattern in advance helps the students for preparing the strategy well for the exam.

BITSAT is conducted in online mode (computer-based test).
The duration of the test is 3 hours without break.
The exam will consist of 4 parts: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English Language & Logical Reasoning.
All questions are of objective type; each question with choice of four answers, only one being the correct choice.
+3 marks for the correctly marked answer, while each incorrect answer has a penalty of 1 mark (-1mark).
There is no time limit for individual parts of the test.

BITSAT 2019 Important Instructions

There is no time limit for individual parts of the test.
Candidates can go back and change any of their answers among the 150 questions.
A candidate can attempt 12 extra questions if they has answered all the 150 questions (without skipping any question) within the prescribed time limit.
These extra questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology only; four questions from each part.
Once the candidate has opted for extra questions, they cannot go back to modify or correct the earlier 150 questions.
The final list of BITSAT exam centers and actual days of exam will be announced to candidates through BITS website i.e.
Candidates who are allotted test centers in campuses of BITS will be provided with accommodation and will be charged nominal rates for the same in hostels.
In case a candidate answers all 150 questions within the given time of 3 hours (without skipping any question), then they can attempt an additional 12 questions (four each from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry only).
The extra questions (a maximum of 12) will give a chance to highly meritorious candidates to score higher.
